Kaituna Cascades normally offers the Rangitaiki River Rafting Tours while the Kaituna river is flooded. Generally it’s low rocky and bouncy, but after the rains that close & flood the Kaituna river – the “Rangi” becomes and class 4/5 beast and a brown rollercoaster of fun!
The Rangitaiki is an awesome half day Wilderness rafting trip passing through spectacular NZ scenery and Native bush between the Kaiangaroa forest and the beautiful and untouched Te Urewera National Park.
The Rangi is the complete rafting package with continuous and hard whitewater at the start of the river, with larger rapids like Geoff’s Joy, Fantail Falls, Pop Up, and Tautika getting ya pumped up and holding on tight…
Then chilling out in the middle with a nice quiet flat stretch, ideal for swimming and floating followed by fun grade 3+ rapids through to the finish.
Once you’ve rafted the epic 12 km’s !! of whitewater – we’ll cruise back to Rotorua!
No prior experience is necessary as you will be given full and comprehensive training and accompanied by a highly experienced guide. All you need is a reasonable level of fitness, a sense of fun and adventure, swimwear and a towel.
This is a half day tour so we recommend bringing a packed lunch and drinks for the day!
Also please note – This is an exciting grade 4+ rafting experience and is NOT suited for older or bigger people, or people that aren’t comfortable in the water. We have a weight limit of 120 kgs.
